Are you looking for a quiet, secluded, romantic get away in the country for a weekend? Here it is and located just 3.5 miles from Stephenville. When we moved to the country this is what we wanted, but instead our house sits close to the highway, so we built The Almosta. The cabin sits far enough off the road so you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the country, but be back in town with in 5 minutes.

Cabin features a claw foot bathtub, bathroom, covered porch, air conditioning, and a wood stove for heat. There is one bedroom downstairs with queen size bed. The loft upstairs has two single beds and one queen size bed. The couch also folds into a full bed so that the house can sleep eight people. Linens are furnished. Kitchen is complete with refrigerator, oven, microwave, coffee pot, and all cooking/eating utensils. Living room has couch, 2 Lazy-Boy recliners, big screen television with all satellite channels, VCR, DVD, and surround sound system.

Located outside is a stocked pond for fishing catfish and perch. We have a covered patio with lights and plugs available for a live band. The whole outside area can be lit up for dinning, dancing, pitching horseshoes, or just visiting in a hot tub large enough for eight people. The hot tub has 105 jets just so it won't miss any spots. A stationary and a portable fire pit are outside to allow the choice of sitting around an open fire. Several barbeque cookers are outside as well.Outdoor sound system so you can listen to your type of music.

The Almosta has been host to weddings, numerous birthdays parties, class reunions and several company parties. A real nice casual environment with lots of shade in the summer for any outdoor event. If you are in town for an equestrian event we have some horse pens to put your horses in. We also raise good, fertilized coastal hay for the best horse feed. Pets are allowed, but you are liable for them. There is livestock in the adjoining fields, so pets should not be allowed to wonder off. At night you will hear the coyotes, so please take care to keep your pets safe and contained. We are not responsible for any accidents.

Rates for one night stay is $150.00 per couple and $10.00 for each additional person up to eight people.
We have group rates for weddings/receptions, birthdays, reunions, company parties, and so on.
